Dürer, Albrecht

Albrecht Durer is the single best german renaissance painter of all time.  His works are so vast that i couldn''t Possible put them all on this page, so i will put the ones that tickle my fancy.

Just to give you all an example of the Skill and craftsmanship of Dürer's portraits, here is one of St. Phillip.
Portrait of Dürer's Father in 1490 29k
Once again, proof that Dürer's portraits are exquisite.  This one is one of 2 of his own father.

A self portrait of Dürer, this one was painted at age 26.
Self Portrait II 123k

This engraving shows orpheus (im assuming the one from greek mythology) getting beaten by 2 men with large sticks.
Angel with the Key to the Bottomless Pit 100k
This engraving depicts a rather large angel up close with a big key and lock and a litte dragon and another angel pointing down into the city below with a beggar at his side.
Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse 98k
Just read the title.
The Knight, Death, and the Devil 93k

This is a painting with a central image of the Virgin mary and events throughout her life.
